These armchairs are classic examples of Baroque-style seating, most likely French or Spanish in origin, dating from the 19th Century. The rich red velvet upholstery is typical of Baroque opulence, although it shows visible wear and fading, likely from age and sun exposure. The standout feature is the twist-turned (or barley twist) woodwork on the arms and legs, a hallmark of the Baroque aesthetic, which emphasizes drama and ornamentation.
