Pair of 18th Century Italian Baroque Giltwood Altar Pricket Candlesticks

A beautiful pair of 18th Century Italian Baroque altar pricket candlesticks.

Carved in solid wood with a classic baluster form featuring cherub heads and acanthus scrollwork, raised on a tripartite scrolled foot. Each retains its original iron pricket spike and ornate drip pan crown.

Covered in original water-gilding over red bole with wonderful timeworn patina, age wear, and gesso showing through - the classic look collectors love for Baroque devotional objects.
