A magnificent and historically significant mid-19th Century English Church folio Bible in its original full brown calf leather binding.

Presented to Campbell Church by Daniel Sherrington, Esq., of the Island of Antigua, this impressive lectern Bible features blind-tooled borders, raised bands, and gilt lettering on the cover stating its Caribbean church provenance. This is a rare piece of colonial British West Indies church history.

With richly aged leather showing beautiful authentic wear, patina, and surface wear at the extremities consistent with over 150 years in a tropical church setting. A monumental decorative object for library styling, perfect for altar, lectern, or English library decor.
