Antique 18th Century Ecclesiastical Textile - Gold and Silver Metallic Embroidery
Hand-embroidered on a black velvet ground with silver and gold metallic thread couching technique. The design features large 12-point starburst medallions alternating with stylized six-petal flowers, all connected by beaded garlands of couched metallic discs - a classic Neoclassical / Empire motif used for altar frontals and vestments.
Bordered on both long edges with antique gold metallic braid (galón). Backed in fine linen, with hand stitching visible throughout. The reverse bears an original ink inscription / inventory mark: "IR LACe JCD" - likely a convent or church inventory marking.
