A sumptuous and highly decorative pair of custom pillows in the grand Venetian tradition, rendered in a luminous antique gold and faded coral damask by Mariano Fortuny.
Each pillow features a majestic large-scale Baroque motif pattern called Glicine by Mariano Fortuny— a central fleur-de-lis plumed cartouche with scrolling acanthus, rocaille, and foliate arabesques — woven in soft coral and rose over a shimmering antique gold ground. The pattern is opulent, classical, and unmistakably Italian.
• The ground is a rich, metallic gold with a true satin luster that catches the light — giving the effect of an antique gilded fabric.
• The damask in faded terracotta / coral has a soft, watercolor-like variation and depth, reminiscent of historic Fortuny stenciling technique, not a flat print. The details of the acanthus fronds and floral sprigs are beautifully defined.
• Expertly tailored with custom contrast welt / piping in a soft coral / burnt rose velvet, framing the gold damask and adding a couture touch.
• Plump, luxurious, and perfectly finished with mitered corners and a full, tailored silhouette.
The reverse of each pillow is upholstered in a sumptuous solid coral velvet — incredibly soft, tactile, and rich in tone — offering a versatile, solid display option and confirming the custom designer workroom finish.
Perfect for layering on a cream bouclé sofa, a velvet settee, or a primary bed. The antique gold and coral palette evokes Venetian palazzos and Tuscan sunsets, ideal for Modern Regency, Hollywood Regency, Grandmillennial, Tuscan, and Italian Glamour interiors.
