18th Century Spanish Colonial Santos - Kneeling C

Hand-carved in solid wood with exquisite estofado technique. The robe features intricate gilt floral patterns over an emerald green ground with a rich crimson and ochre mantle, retaining substantial original gold leaf and polychrome. Glass eyes, hand-painted facial details with beard, and deeply carved wavy hair flowing to the shoulders. Arms extended in a gesture of offering and surrender.
