18th Century Italian Baroque Giltwood Altar Finial on Lucite Base

A stunning 18th Century Italian Baroque giltwood altar finial, transformed into a luxury table sculpture.

Featuring a bulbous urn form with dramatic scrolled handles, elongated neck, and ball finial top. Rich original water-gilding over red bole with magnificent distressed patina, wood showing through, and burnished gold highlights.

Mounted on a contemporary clear acrylic / lucite block base, elevating this sacred fragment into a chic modern objet d'art. The contrast of ancient gold and modern lucite is exactly what top decorators seek for luxury interiors.
