18th Century French Aubusson Tapestry Lumbar Pillow - Floral Baroque Embroidery with Metallic Fringe

An extraordinary extra-long lumbar pillow made from an authentic 18th Century French Aubusson / needlepoint tapestry fragment.

Hand-embroidered in petit point with a central cartouche of stylized roses and tulips in faded salmon, blue, ochre and sage, flanked by symmetrical bows and baroque scrollwork. The ground is a warm taupe with metallic thread accents and polychrome striped bands with raised cordwork.

Finished with original-style long metallic bullion fringe on the sides and backed in washed natural linen. This is a true antique textile fragment repurposed as a luxury decorative pillow - not a reproduction.
