A richly detailed framed ecclesiastical textile panel, Continental European, late 17th to early 18th century. Originally part of a church vestment or altar frontal, the piece is worked in couched gilt and silver metallic threads with silk embroidery on a golden ground, surrounded by a deep crimson silk border. The central field displays a large chalice-shaped urn issuing scrolling acanthus leaves and stylized floral motifs, with heraldic emblems and crests worked into the design. The crimson borders feature alternating giltwork urns of flowers and lattice cartouches, further embellished with scrolling vines and blossoms. Now mounted and framed for preservation, the textile retains remarkable color and intricate handwork, showcasing the opulence of Baroque ecclesiastical embroidery. Suitable for display as a work of textile art or as a focal point in an interior.
