Monumental set of 4 antique French cast iron garden urns, circa 1880-1900. Each urn features a classic Neoclassical silhouette with a wide flared rim decorated with egg-and-dart molding, a tapering waisted body, and a square plinth base. The original painted surface shows beautiful age-appropriate wear, crazing, and surface rust with traces of old white/cream paint - exactly the patina collectors want for garden, terrace, or entryway styling.
These were likely made in France for a chateau, estate, or public garden during the height of 19th-century iron foundry production. The egg-and-dart rim is a signature detail from French foundries like Val d’Osne. Heavy weight and solid cast construction. Perfect for lining a driveway, flanking doors, or creating a symmetrical pair/quad arrangement outdoors.
