A beautifully timeworn six-light chandelier of European origin, dating to the 19th century, crafted in carved wood with an original hand-forged iron armature. The turned and faceted central stem is richly articulated with baluster and urn-form elements, retaining layers of historic painted surface in soft sage green, muted gray, and exposed terracotta undertones—evidence of centuries of gentle wear and honest use.
Six gracefully scrolling iron arms extend outward in a rhythmic, looping configuration, each terminating in a carved wooden candle cup with matching painted decoration. The iron arms retain a warm, oxidized patina that complements the aged wood beautifully. Newly fitted drip-wax candle sleeves preserve the authentic candlelit appearance while allowing for modern electrical functionality.
This chandelier has been professionally rewired to US standards and is fitted with a new chain and canopy, making it fully ready for installation. The surface remains intentionally untouched, showcasing original paint losses, texture, and irregularities consistent with age, which lend depth, character, and a soulful, architectural presence.
