A sculptural and highly decorative Italian tole chandelier, dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1950s), featuring six gracefully scrolling arms adorned with hand-formed foliage and fruit motifs.
The chandelier is crafted from hand-worked metal, finished in a soft, time-worn ivory tone, and embellished with painted polychrome leaves and fruit, including pears and apples rendered in muted greens, ochres, and terracotta hues. The organic detailing and whimsical botanical form are characteristic of Italian tole lighting of the period, evoking Mediterranean garden imagery with a romantic, artisanal sensibility.
Six curved arms extend outward from a central stem, each terminating in a candle-style socket dressed with wax-drip sleeves, creating an elegant balance of form and function. Additional scrolling vines and leaves wrap the central column, adding depth and movement when viewed from all angles.
The chandelier has been newly rewired, and includes a new chain and canopy, making it fully ready for installation. The original painted surface shows desirable age-appropriate wear, contributing to its authentic patina and vintage character.
