The top is the star: parquet parquetry in a starburst/ Versailles pattern using mixed oak and pine tones. The wood has a beautiful honey-bleached patina with honest wear, scratches, and age marks that prove its authenticity. You can see the hand-cut joinery and peg construction typical of pre-industrial furniture.

The pedestal base is a massive turned column on a wide stepped circular base - classic French Provincial "pied de colonne" style. Solid and heavy, built to last 200 years.
