19th Century Italian Carved Console Table w/ Marble Top An extraordinary 19th century Italian console table, richly hand-carved and crowned with a beautifully contoured white marble top. The base is crafted from solid wood and retains its original painted finish in wonderfully weathered shades of green, ochre, and muted earth tones, creating an evocative timeworn patina with layers of texture and age. The apron is adorned with elaborate Rococo-style carving, including scrolling foliage, floral motifs, and a dramatic central crest. The legs are anchored by intricately carved figures and stylized masks, lending the piece a mythological or architectural gravitas typical of baroque and early neoclassical design influences. The shaped stretcher base mirrors the sinuous lines of the top and provides visual weight and structural balance.
