A dynamic American copper and brass weather vane depicting a trotting horse pulling a sulky with driver. The horse is shown in full stride, with finely shaped body panels and applied wirework detailing the harness. The driver is rendered in sheet and molded copper with simplified facial features, arms extended holding reins, and a cap. The large spoked wheels of the sulky are crafted in brass wire, lending openness and lightness to the composition. The surface has developed a rich, timeworn patina, with areas of verdigris oxidation and warm copper undertones, enhancing its sculptural quality. Presented on a custom metal stand for display.
