Description
19th-century French tole container. It features a trapezoidal shape and stands on four ornate brass feet with acanthus leaf motifs. The main body is adorned with a bouquet of flowers painted in a palette of gold, reds, yellows, pinks, glues and greens, all set against a soft green background with gold leaf details. this piece retains its original metal liner, which adds to its authenticity and value. The brass handles on the sides, fashioned in the shape of lion’s heads, provide a majestic finish to this exquisite item.
One of the corners has a split. It can be repaired but it is not necessary to the overall beauty and usage of the piece.
